BLACKPINK Lisa’s first solo song ‘Lalisa’, which was released Today (September 10th) at 1 pm KST. She wrote her first solo title song after 5 years of debut, ‘Lalisa’, after her real name ‘Lalisa Manoban’.
Lisa has pulled off something that only a few singers are capable of, which is blending K-pop and the culture of Thailand, her native country.
“I wanted to capture the best of me. I wanted to show ‘Lalisa’ itself. This title song is a song that can show the power and confidence of my name well.” Lisa said, during an online press conference held a few hours ahead of the album’s release.
As much as her identity is concentrated, elements related to her native country, Thailand are included throughout.
“While singing, I said that I wanted to add a Thai feel to it this time, and YG’s producer, Teddy, arranged the lead track in the way I expected. I also wore Thai outfits in the music video. There was a little bit of Thai traditional dance in the performance.
Lisa said, “I’m so nervous and I can’t believe it.”
She continued, “While practicing, I wondered if this was right, but when I was filming the music video, my solo debut came to life”.
“I’m happy and excited to be able to show you my new side and music,” she said.
‘Lalisa’ is an intense hip-hop genre song. Lisa picked the opening part of her favorite lyrics, “You can tell just by looking at my back”.
