BTS won 3 awards at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), an American music awards ceremony.
According to MTV and Billboard, BTS won ‘Group of the Year’, ‘Best K-Pop’ and ‘Song Of The Summer’ at the VMA held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on the morning of the 13th September.
The ‘Group of the Year’ winners were announced at the red carpet event before the VMA ceremony.
BTS could not attend the awards ceremony in person due to Covid-19, but they thanked the fans by saying, “I feel your love every minute and every second.”
BTS won the trophy for the ‘Group of the Year’ category for three consecutive years following 2019 and 2020. Until last year, this category was awarded under the name of ‘Best Group’.
This year, BTS, Black Pink, CNCO, Silk Sonic, Maroon 5, Fu Fighters, Jonas Brothers, and Twenty One Pilots competed for nominations in this category.
BTS and BLACKPINK appeared in the final two teams of the ‘Final Round’, which narrowed down the candidates through fan votes, demonstrating the power of K-Pop.
BTS won the ‘Best K-Pop’ category for the third year in a row with the hit song ‘Butter’ released in May.
In addition to the two categories, BTS are nominated with total of 7 categories including ‘Song of the Year’ with ‘Dynamite’, ‘Best Pop’ with ‘Butter’, ‘Best Choreography’, ‘Best Editing’, and ‘Song of the Summer’.
But in the ‘Song of the Year’ category, American monster rookie Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Driver’s License’ took the trophy.
In the ‘Best Pop’ category, pop stars Justin Bieber, Daniel Caesar and Gibion’s ‘Peaches’ were the winners.

BTS was nominated for this awards ceremony for the first time in 2019 and won two awards.
Then, last year, at the awards ceremony, the first stage of ‘Dynamite’ was unveiled and attracted attention by winning a total of 4 crowns.
